Promoting Health, Preventing Disease, and
Ensuring a Clean Environment
The WUBAF Health Department plays a vital role in
safeguarding the well-being of individuals and communities. Through health
education, health screening services, and environmental sanitation activities,
the department works to prevent disease, promote healthy lifestyles, and
support early detection and timely care.
This article highlights the activities carried out
during the 2025/2026 Mega Outreach Program held at Breman Asabiem in the
Central Region, with health education and screening activities taking place on
30th December, 2025.
Health Education and Awareness
One of the core responsibilities of the Health
Department is health education. During the outreach, community members were
educated on common health conditions such as typhoid fever, hypertension, and
Human Papillomavirus (HPV). The education sessions focused on the causes, signs
and symptoms, prevention methods, and the importance of seeking early medical
care. By empowering people with accurate health information, the department
helps reduce preventable illnesses and improve overall health outcomes.
Health Screening and Early Detection
Health screening was a major activity of the outreach
program. Services provided included blood pressure checks, blood sugar testing,
malaria testing, typhoid infection screening, and general vital signs
assessment. These screenings helped participants understand their health status
and encouraged early medical intervention where necessary, thereby reducing
complications and promoting a healthier community.
Environmental Health and Waste Management
A clean environment is essential for good health. The
Health Department emphasized proper waste management by educating the community
on separating solid and liquid waste, encouraging regular cleaning exercises,
and promoting good sanitation practices. These measures help prevent the spread
of communicable diseases and ensure a healthy living environment.
Collaboration and Community Service
The success of the outreach program was made possible
through effective collaboration among the Health Department, Education
Department, community leaders, health workers, volunteers, and members of the
organization. This teamwork, dedication, and shared commitment to service were
key in delivering effective health services to the community.
Conclusion
Through continuous health education, regular health
screening, and effective environmental sanitation practices, the Health
Department remains committed to promoting good health and preventing disease.
The activities carried out during the 2025/2026 Mega Outreach Program at Breman
Asabiem have contributed significantly to improving community health awareness
and overall well-being.
