Members of the Wonadem UBA Foundation (WUBAF)
joined mourners and sympathizers on Saturday, 8th August, 2026 at
Akatsi-Atorkorkorfe to bid a final farewell to Mr. Ben Wede Yao Atorkor,
the beloved father of Mr. Saviour Atorkor, a valued member of the
Foundation.
The funeral service was held in an atmosphere of
solemnity, unity, and celebration of life.
Members began arriving as early as 7:00am, with
attendance continuing until 11:00am. The church service commenced around
9:00am and was marked by heartfelt tributes, prayers, and music.
A moment was observed to allow family, friends, and
well-wishers to pay their last respects to the deceased. Invited guests
were duly introduced before the reading of scripture set the tone for the
service.
The biography of Mr. Atorkor was read by
representatives of the family, including his wife, children, in-laws,
grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the church. The life story highlighted
his legacy of love, service, and family values.
The offertory followed, led by the WUBAF
Brass Band, whose melodious ministration added a reverent tone to the
service. A powerful sermon was delivered by the church pastor, after
which a special prayer was said for the bereaved family.
In honor of our colleague, WUBAF was called upon to
perform during the service, showcasing the Foundationâs solidarity with the
Atorkor family.
The church service concluded at exactly 1:20pm.
Following the service, WUBAF members joined other
mourners for refreshments and networking, strengthening bonds of
fellowship and mutual support.
The Foundation led a Borborbor performance â a
vibrant cultural tribute that celebrated the life of the departed while
uplifting the spirits of those present.
The entire program came to a close at 4:20pm
with a final prayer led by Love Afanu, after which guests and members
departed.
The Wonadem UBA Foundation extends its deepest
condolences to Mr. Saviour Atorkor and the entire Atorkor family. May
the soul of Mr. Ben Wede Yao Atorkor rest in perfect peace.
